Start with the job, not the brand
"Tally automation" covers at least four different jobs, and no tool is the best at all of them. Pick the job that costs your team the most hours, then compare tools on that job. For most businesses it is one of these:
- Purchase and sales bill entry. Reading PDF or photographed invoices and turning them into vouchers.
- Bank statement entry and reconciliation. Getting statement lines into Tally and explaining the ones that do not match.

Five questions to ask in any trial
- Does it work on my release and licence? Some tools need a recent TallyPrime release or active TSS.
- What happens to a bill it cannot read? It should be held for review, never posted with a guess.
- Who can post into Tally? Look for approval before posting and a log of every voucher written.
- Is the price per bill, per page, or flat? Per-page quotas look cheap until month end. Confirm whether GST is extra.
- Can I test it on my own data? A demo company proves nothing. Run one real month of bills and one bank statement.
